Built on compassion &
trust
The finest expressions of creativity are often not shaped in Ivy League classrooms, but in the quiet rhythm of villages where people live close to nature. Rural India holds generations of grassroots artisans whose mastery has long remained unseen. Jaipur Rugs Foundation has committed to thoughtful interventions that bring genuine empowerment and upliftment. We work to expand the creative capacities and livelihoods of rural and marginalised artisans, helping their artistry move from the shadows to a place of dignity and recognition.
Our holistic approach addresses economic empowerment, healthcare and craft preservation across rural communities in India.

Livelihood Generation
We provide livelihood opportunities to rural women through hand-knotted rug weaving skill development, carding & spinning and grassroots leadership development. Designed to turn unskilled individuals into artisans and finally artists.

Social Security
We strengthen social security by facilitating government linkages and promoting financial literacy, enabling communities to access welfare schemes and build long-term financial resilience.

Health & Well-Being
We promote physical and mental well-being by organizing door-to-door healthcare services, conducting health and eye camps, and building awareness around emotional wellness and issues such as menstrual hygiene.

Craft, Culture & Innovation
Preserving and advancing craft traditions through cultural sustainability, research and documentation, and global storytelling that celebrates artisans and their communities.

JResidency offers a collaborative environment that brings together individuals from a broad range of disciplines and cultural backgrounds, fostering connections between craft, artisans, and creative thinkers. The initiative aims to integrate contemporary perspectives with traditional craftsmanship, facilitating the exchange of ideas across creativity, culture, and community. Extending beyond the studio, the residency encourages craft to evolve in response to new influences, allowing for growth, transformation, and innovation.

You invest in people, skills, healthcare, heritage and hope. From every home we reach to every loom we light up, your participation creates ripples of change that last generations.

Dhapha Ji began weaving carpets out of necessity rather than passion, finding the craft initially challenging. However, through dedicated learning and support, she developed into a skilled innovator and award-winning artist.

Though she believed her lack of formal education was a barrier to success, Chelu Ji's powerful determination earned her the role of a warehouse in-charge with Jaipur Rugs. With her earnings, she has since transformed her life, replacing her long daily walk with a bike and turning her humble hut into a solid brick house.

Shanti Devi turned deep suffering into a powerful weaving movement. Her compassionate leadership now uplifts an entire community of artisans.
