About

Organized by the Italian Embassy Cultural Centre in New Delhi on the occasion of India Art Fair 2026, Shared Stories Now was conceived as a contemporary extension of Shared Stories, the ongoing exhibition at the Humayun’s Tomb Museum, New Delhi. The exhibition’s purpose was to bring the historical dialogues of Shared Stories into the present, exploring how cultural exchanges between India, Italy, and wider Eurasian histories continue to shape contemporary artistic practice. Rather than presenting history as a fixed past, the exhibition positioned it as a living archive to be reinterpreted through art, foregrounding conversations across geographies, generations, materials, and ideas. On display were works engaging with memory, archives, landscape, architecture, image circulation, ornament, abstraction, everyday life, and social and economic systems. Participating artists included Dayanita Singh, Francesco Simeti, Avinash Veeraraghavan, Imran Qureshi, Stefano Arienti, Elisabetta Di Maggio, Neeraj Patel, Arshad Hakim, Ayesha Singh, Stefania Galegati, Raw Material, and Thukral and Tagra, whose practices together formed a layered constellation of contemporary responses to shared histories, cultural memory, and ongoing exchange.
