In a step toward elevating individual and collective well-being, it is essential to drive forward a narrative where self-awareness, mental health, consciousness, and the holistic well-being of artisans are prioritized, not only for their own growth but for the advancement of individuals and communities.
This program focuses on fostering holistic well-being among artisans by emphasizing self-awareness, mental health, and emotional resilience. Through a people-centered approach, it seeks to support individual growth while strengthening communities and contributing to a more balanced and sustainable future. Grounded in principles of happiness and well-being, the initiative aims to create a positive ripple effect that extends beyond individuals to society at large.
The Happiness Project is a 12-week journey of inner awakening designed for artisans associated with Jaipur Rugs Foundation (JRF). Launched on 30th June 2025, in collaboration with the World Happiness Foundation (WHF), the initiative embodies a shared vision of universal happiness and holistic well-being. The project began with 80 artisans, divided into two groups of approximately 40 each, an intervention group and a control group. The intervention group completed their 12-week journey, and on 3rd November 2025, the project was officially launched for the control group, marking the next phase of this transformative initiative.
The project showed that emotional well-being and self-regulation can be effectively addressed in field settings. Artisans participated openly in sharing circles, speaking about everyday experiences that many had never shared before. These sessions created a safe space for listening, trust, and emotional expression, and were described by participants as a new and meaningful experience.
Meditation practices helped participants feel more grounded and present, allowing time to pause and reflect. The project also strengthened relationships across the organization, bringing artisans, field teams, branch managers, and head office staff closer together.
The initiative helped assess field readiness and highlighted the need for regular spaces for sharing and reflection. Over the course of the project, positive changes were observed across all groups involved, showing the value of continued focus on emotional well-being in community programs.
