Set in artisan communities, the program builds on a deep-rooted tradition of making by hand, skills passed down through generations. Many young women grow up surrounded by creativity, learning patience, precision, and craftsmanship within their homes. This initiative recognizes that inherited talent and channels it into structured skill development, creating opportunities for learning, confidence-building, and sustainable livelihoods through organized training and community-based support.
In partnership with Srujna, this project established local stitching centres where daughters of artisans receive hands-on training in tailoring. The centres provide practical skills, access to equipment, and guided learning, enabling young women to build confidence and become job-ready. By supporting pathways to employment and small home-based enterprises, the initiative strengthens economic independence and contributes to the long-term stability of artisan families.
Our Goals:
Equip children of artisans with practical tailoring skills
Operate community-based stitching centres close to their homes
Build confidence and self-reliance among young women
Enable access to employable skills and livelihood opportunities
Support their journey toward economic independence
2 training centres established in 2 villages; Manpura & Sundarpura where 20+ equipped with skills.
4 talented women from Manpura travelled to Mumbai after creating their own products
under the theme “Waste to Wealth”, guided and trained by Srujna Foundation. The
initiative gave these women a platform to showcase their talent and transform discarded
materials into something meaningful. Through the programme, they learned how to
design, make, market, and sell their handmade items building both skill and confidence
along the way

Dhapha Ji began weaving carpets out of necessity rather than passion, finding the craft initially challenging. However, through dedicated learning and support, she developed into a skilled innovator and award-winning artist.

Though she believed her lack of formal education was a barrier to success, Chelu Ji's powerful determination earned her the role of a warehouse in-charge with Jaipur Rugs. With her earnings, she has since transformed her life, replacing her long daily walk with a bike and turning her humble hut into a solid brick house.

Shanti Devi turned deep suffering into a powerful weaving movement. Her compassionate leadership now uplifts an entire community of artisans.

It is the story of Krishna Ji of Manpura whose life transformed when Jaipur Rugs recognized her talent and provided fair opportunities, opening doors to travel, financial security, and a deep sense of pride in her craft.
