At the 2019 Kyoorius Design Awards, Manju Devi, a weaver-designer from Hanutpura village, Rajasthan, earned the prestigious Blue Elephant in Sustainable Product Design for her debut rug, Aas Paas . Part of Jaipur Rugs' Manchaha initiative, the piece draws inspiration from her rural surroundings-earthen stoves, hand-painted walls, and cow dung floor patterns-translating everyday village life into a sustainable, hand-knotted wool and silk tapestry. Aas Paas stands as a testament to the power of indigenous storytelling and eco-conscious artistry.
