In 2017, Kavi’s Free Verse collection for Jaipur Rugs earned Special Mention at the German Design Awards for Excellent Product Design in Home Textiles. The Kras rug, inspired by the interplay of light on crumpled foil, and Taittu, echoing the texture of ribbed knitwear, both showcase a poetic fusion of material and movement. Hand-knotted in wool and silk, these pieces reflect Kavi’s exploration of imperfection and precision, transforming everyday textures into tactile, contemporary art. The jury praised the collection’s craftsmanship and innovative translation of light and form into textile design.
