Lorenzo Vitturi’s Jugalbandi collection for Jaipur Rugs earned the EDIDA India 2020 award in the Flooring category, celebrating a dynamic fusion of art and craft. Named after the Indian musical duet, Jugalbandi reflects a creative dialogue between Vitturi and Rajasthani artisans. Inspired by everyday village life, Vitturi transformed photographs of rural assemblages into abstract designs, which local weavers brought to life, adding their own interpretations. The result is a series of hand-tufted wool and viscose rugs that weave together global artistry and traditional Indian craftsmanship.
