During the
year, the following activities were conducted under
various heads:
A. Capacity Building/ Skill development
1. Master craftsmen training for 10 beneficiaries at
Dausa
2. Skill up gradation training for 25 beneficiaries at
Dausa
3. Special training programme for 20 Master Craftsmen at
Dausa
4. All craftsmen linkages with Jaipur Rugs Company Pvt.
Ltd for marketing
5. Skill development in new technology of carpet
weaving. Around 25 artisans and weavers were targeted
6. Yoga class for craftsman and other staff. A handful
number of 150 beneficiaries had attended this session
7. Visiting and identifying potential villages and
weavers who can be benefited
8. Insurance of craftsmen and others under Janshree Bima
Yojana
9. Campaigning in 12 districts of Rajasthan to
understand the needs and problems of weavers
B. Networking
1. Collect information from district and state level,
NGOs and concerned department
2. Coordination with weavers, craftsperson engaged in
carpet industry, government and other funding agencies
for AIDS and assistance for their development
3. Environmental building meetings were organized to
form self help groups and discuss the weavers present
conditions and hurdles
4. Formed 28 self help groups out of which 3 self help
groups were linked up with banks
C. Research/ Documentation
1. Brief study on self help groups of existing weavers
and new weavers in Daulpur, Dausa, Jaipur and Tonk
districts
2. Engagement of approximately 100 self help groups in
carpet manufacturing work
D. Meetings
1. Meetings held in 15 villages of Dausa, Jaipur
districts, approximately 350 villagers participating
2. Home visits of approximately 203 weavers to propagate
the benefits of a stabilized income and the foundation’s
mission
3. Meeting with various departments i.e. Department of
Women and Child Development, Department of Health,
District Planning Committee, Commissioner for Khadi &
villages Industries, banks, NGOs and self help groups
who can assist these weavers at times of need
With rigorous workshops and seminars undertaken by the
foundation in various districts and villages for the
weavers and artisans, the final outcomes were as
follows:
• The capacity building programs and skill developing
sessions led to an economic up gradation of 200 families
that were below poverty line
• The number of weavers who were impacted by the
programs were 12000 in number
• The entire workshops, meetings and seminars entailed
at least 1400 families
• There were 24 women self help groups formed
• Clusters were formed in the areas like Viratnagar,
Jaipur, Sainthal and Dausa |
