We came into existence in 2004 with a purpose to uplift the underprivileged communities through sustainable employment in carpet weaving. Registered under the Public Trust Act 1959, Jaipur Rugs Foundation was formerly known as the International Research and Development Institute (IRDI). Being a welfare initiative of Jaipur Rugs Company, this foundation aims to develop the rural artisans and weavers in a way that enhances their capacity to grow and sustain a better standard of living. At present, it operates in eleven states of India touching more than 35000 lives and plans to expand its spheres globally.

Our objective is to generate and spread the art of carpet weaving to underprivileged and deprived communities. Mr. Nand Kishore Chaudhary, Trustee of Jaipur Rugs Foundation, believes in nurturing the rural weavers and artisans such that they become self-employed and self-sufficient. The core values of the foundation are: to impart justice, equality, build trust in human capacities and ensure a transparent system.

The carpet industry is very fragile and disorganized. The workers in this industry do not have access to proper training, markets or any sorts of development. There is a desperate need to address this issue with the right set of actions. For any company, a corporate social responsibility represents its accountability to the community that it serves.                                                                        More >>>
