私は、2008年9月よりジャイプール・ラグズでの研修を開始し、現在弊社の営業部にて活動しています。
弊社の製品は全て手織りで作られており、その製造手法は、非常に伝統的であり洗練されています。
私が、絨毯が製造される村を訪問したとき、絨毯織りの二人の職人さんが歌いながら作業をしているように見えました。しかし、実際は、歌を歌っていたわけではなく、絨毯を織るための合言葉を二人で掛け合っていたのです！
こうして、熟練した職人さんたちの手によって作られた高品質なインド絨毯を、世界中の多くの人に知っていただきたいとの思いを胸に日々仕事をしています。 |

私は現在、インターンシップ研修生としてジャイプールラグズ基金で働いています。
この組織の特徴は、貧困状況が著しいと言われているインドの農村部で、社会・経済的両方の面から発展を行っていこうとする姿勢です。
ただ貧しい人にお金を与えるだけではなく、彼らが自立して絨毯職工として収入を得られるように教育し、彼らが生産したカーペットを親会社であるジャイプール・ラグズ・カンパニーが海外に向けて販売して、会社として利益を上げています。
そうした絨毯職工、会社双方にとってWin-Winの関係を築こうという試みをしているのが我々JRFです。我々の取り組みに興味を持たれた方は、お気軽にご意見ご感想をお寄せください。
